What is Polyester Insulation?

When it comes to insulation there are several choices. These include polyester insulation and fiberglass insulation. In general, fiberglass insulation is preferable. When deciding on an insulation choice, it is important to understand what each of them are. We already know that fiberglass is better and is considered a green choice. But what is fiberglass insulation anyway and why is fiberglass better?

Insulation is needed for the sole purpose of keeping a house warm or cool. A good insulation option is one that helps save money on heating and cooling bills. If you live in a four season climate, the insulation needs to guard against escaping heat in the winter and escaping cool in the summer. Polyester insulation is one such choice but is not preferred over fiberglass. Fiberglass simply insulates more effectively than its counterparts.

How do you know which to choose?

Well no matter where you live, fiberglass is the better choice. For one, when it is installed using the spray technique the water that is used in the process doesn't absorb in. Fiberglass is also an approved choice when it comes to creating a green environment. People have realized that certain insulation, such as those types that contain asbestos, are harmful.

Though polyester insulation is a choice, it's not the best one. Fiberglass is much better and more effective. It is also considered "green." When it comes time to decide on an insulation choice, polyester isn't the best one. Fiberglass has a lot more going for it.
